Spectator Code of Conduct & Sportsmanship Acknowledgement
Purpose
Fayette County Youth Soccer Club is dedicated to providing a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for all players, coaches, officials, and families.
Every spectator—whether a parent, relative, or guest—plays a role in modeling sportsmanship and respect.
This Code of Conduct applies to all individuals on Fayette County Youth Soccer Club property or attending any club-related event.
Spectator Code of Conduct
Model Respect & Sportmanship
Treat all players, coaches, referees, and other spectators with courtesy and respect.
Refrain from using abusive, threatening, or foul language.
Applaud effort, teamwork, and good play—on both teams.
Let Coaches Coach and Officials Officiate
Do not instruct or yell directions to players during the game.
Never confront referees, coaches, or players before, during, or after a game.
Respect all referee decisions, understanding that mistakes are part of the game.
Maintain a Positive Sideline
Encourage players with positive words only.
Avoid negative comments, sarcasm, or criticism toward anyone involved.
Keep sidelines free from alcohol, tobacco, or controlled substances.
Ensure a Safe and Supportive Environment
Follow all facility rules, parking guidelines, and staff instructions.
Supervise children who are not participating to ensure safety for all.
Refrain from bringing pets onto fields or areas where prohibited.
5. Use of Social Media & Public Content
Use social media responsibly—never post or share negative comments about players, coaches, referees, or the club.
Avoid recording or posting videos/photos of minors without permission.
Represent the club with pride, positivity, and respect at all times.
Sportsmanship Pledge
I will:
Cheer for all players, not against opponents.
Honor the game, the officials, and every participant.
Contribute to an environment that emphasizes learning, teamwork, and fun.
Remember that youth sports are for the players—not the adults.
Violations
Violations of the Fayette County Youth Soccer Club Codes of Conduct include, but are not limited to:
Unsportsmanlike, disrespectful, or abusive behavior toward players, coaches, referees, staff, or spectators.
Verbal or physical intimidation, harassment, or inappropriate contact.
Use of profanity, obscene gestures, or threatening language.
Disregard for referee or staff authority during practices, games, or events.
Negative, harmful, or inappropriate use of social media related to the club.
Failure to comply with club, league, or facility rules and policies.
Disciplinary Action
Fayette County Youth Soccer Club reserves the right to take appropriate action when any coach, player, parent, or spectator fails to uphold these standards.
Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, disciplinary actions may include (but are not limited to):
Verbal or Written Warning — for minor or first-time offenses.
Temporary Suspension — from practices, games, or team activities.
Probationary Status — continued participation contingent on behavior improvement.
Removal from Event or Facility — immediate removal for serious or disruptive conduct.
Dismissal or Ban — removal from coaching duties, team rosters, or club participation for repeated or severe violations.
All disciplinary decisions are made by the Fayette County Youth Soccer Club Board of Directors after reviewing the facts and any submitted reports.
Reporting a Concern or Violation
Anyone (coach, parent, player, or spectator) may report a potential violation by submitting a written statement that includes:
The name(s) of those involved.
A description of the incident, including date, time, and location.
Names of any witnesses (if applicable).
Any supporting documentation (e.g., photos, messages, or statements).

All reports will be reviewed in confidence and handled in accordance with club policies and league regulations.
Dispute or Appeal Process
If an individual wishes to dispute or appeal a disciplinary decision, the following steps must be taken:
Submit a written appeal within 7 days of being notified of the disciplinary action.
The appeal must be addressed to the Fayette County Youth Soccer Club Board of Directors and include all relevant details and supporting materials.
The Board (or its appointed committee) will review the appeal, gather any necessary additional information, and make a final decision within 14 days of receipt.
All decisions by the Board of Directors are final and binding.
